Megaliths
Whether cleaved off the earths crust or left by quarryman of years past; giant, irregular stones stood on end make a statement. Stone Farm can find just the right one to accent your garden or we’ll core one from end to end to make a lamppost. We love these Ginormous stones.
Sheep Posts
You ask what a sheep post is? New England farmers being both ingenious and cheap would sometimes hand split stone right on site to create a durable and non degradable post. Most of these posts came with wire collar. The farmer used it as a way to help string new wire or fix what was already there.
Antique Bollards
Traveling trough the cemeteries of New England and surrounding areas, it is not uncommon to find family plots surrounded by hand carved reclaimed posts of varying heights, colors, textures and styles. These posts (and curbing) pieces need to be maintained and sometimes they are removed.
Granite Posts
The old granite building blocks came in many different sizes. We often find them in sizes from 6-8 feet in length. These old blocks make great candidates to be split into posts. These newly split posts show drill marks and have a weathered and historic look that you just don’t find with new granite posts.
